Formed in 1998, steelBlue is one of the most exciting local bluegrass bands in Georgia. This band performs regularly at The RedLight Café in Atlanta as well as regional festivals. steelBlue has also opened for such groups as The Sam Bush Band, Blue Highway, Lonesome River Band, The John Cowan Band, Claire Lynch and The Front Porch String Band, and has been the featured band in numerous concert venues. This is a band whose music offers bluegrass with influences of swing, folk, newgrass, and rock, and while the band's foundation is in traditional bluegrass, you are just as likely to hear improvised progressive music from this talented group of musicians. All are veterans, each having over 20 years of performing experience, and together they are a very solid bluegrass band with exciting instrumentation, great vocal and tight harmonies. This is a very impressive group and gives a great live performance.
