The Forrest Family Home Page is dedicated to the research of the FORREST-FORRESTER-FORIST-FOREST-FORRASTER, (and other variances of the spelling) surname and allied families.

Since 1996, I had been publishing a Forrest Queries Digest, the Digest is now automated with Rootsweb!  To subscribe, please click HERE for instructions.

All past publications, (from 6/1996 through 9/1999) are available below and have been condensed into ZIPPED files, for downloading. Use Mac's UNZIP or Windows WINZIP to view these text files at your leisure.

The Clan Forrester Society is a family organization that has been around for over 30 years. (Yes! "Forrest" is a derivative of "Forrester" as well as DeForet and numerous others). They are dedicated to the preservation of our history and have records dating back to 1196, that's 800 years! To read more about the Clan and to find out how to join, please click the image above.

My regular links have been added to: Genealogical Links.

"Where do I start?" is a page that I've written with the help of my good friend Michael Gilliland. It covers the most basic steps of beginning your research and the "how to" of running a genealogical program.

Exporting Gedcoms and Importing Gedcoms are other "how to" pages but deal exclusively with Family Tree Maker software.

The Membership Directory is where you can search some of our members' lineages and email them directly if you suspect a connection.

Ancestral Photos is a page with photographs of some members' and my ancestors. Brief lineages are included.

Heraldry is a page with downloadable Coat of Arms graphics for various Forrest individuals.

Read the 'Forrest Lineage' by Mrs. Annie Sue Idol. This manuscript, (although it contains some inaccuracies) began my odyssey into researching my family. It details the arrival of six Irish brothers to West Jersey in the mid 1600's and traces two distinct lines, my own in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and that of a southern line from PA. to N. Carolina, to Tennessee, Missouri and beyond.
