OTHER INTEREST

These SODA tracks are alphabetized. Check the dates for the best track. If it was generated yesterday, it's probably better than a track I made 2 years ago. -RIP

MILE SQUARE MOTO
I downloaded the demo for Soda Off Road when it first came out. With the demo, they gave you a track editor. I made tracks, but could never drive on them until I got the game. I built Mile Square Moto then, they shipped me my reserved copy (cause I called the 800-Number). Mile Square Moto was named after the Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley, CA. They have alot of sand traps that look like perfect berms for racing golf carts.
WRIGHTWOOD
Soon afterwards, I built the Wrightwood soda track; named after Wright Mountain in Wrightwoood, CA. This track was an attempt at creating a slow-technical-uphill climb like Trial Bikes on ESPN. (The track editor would'nt allow sharper hairpins than can be found here.)
WHATS UP
After searching the WEB, I found a track site called club soda. They had SODA tracks to offer, and they rated them. When my buddies raced them, they said "If thats a high rated soda track, you have got to put your tracks on the net!". It's true, each of these tracks have a certain style that gets programed into them, and you can quickly tell the difference.
SHREADER GULCH
Shreader Gulch is the same layout as Mile Square Moto, so it will take forever to complete a five lap race. This came from my urge to layout the LONGEST track footprint that I could create in the given space, which goes against the whole idea of SHORT-COURSE OFF-ROAD DRIVERS ASSOCIATION.
BIG BOWL
Big Bowl was created next. Another Mile Square Moto modification (But in a BIG way!) This track was designed to test the ability of the track editor in creating a smooth bowl using nothing but squares. In order to make the straight up edges of the bowl, it ended up taking the entire length of the course.
APPLE VALLEY
Apple Valley was designed for FULL THROTTLE. I wanted to punch it, and do five laps without letting off the gas! In order to pull this off, I had to make the berms even smoother than before. So I turned to diagonal approaches which gave me 25 percent more flexibility in the grade. (excuse me, but I think we're creating our own lingo here!) This track was named after the fast desert trails in Apple Valley, CA.
AIR TEST DUMMIES
Air Test Dummies spawned after we jumped the mountain peak in the middle of Apple Valley. Everyone wanted the biggest jump SODA could offer. So I set the books straight on this one. A friend who raced it kept calling for more jumps. I said, "If you can win five lap race against me, I'll put those jumps in you keep talking about".) Download the track and find out who won?
DOUBLE TROUBLE
Double Trouble is an amazingly fast technical track. With the new 25 percent gain in grade segments, (more editor lingo!) I was pushed to create a track that offered Big Air (speed), Controllable Jumps (lined up approaches), No Blind Spots (track always visible ahead), No Suprises (clean berms). Beef up the shocks if you wanna complete 5 laps on this SODA track.
PAGODA
Pagoda was named after the Chinese firework display. When you light the box, the center pops up again and again until a pyramid is created while it spins. Consider this SODA track as the life size version of that firework.
SPEED CONTROL
Speed Control is an attempt to slow everyone down over the first jump, and force a perfect clearing of the second jump. If you don't control your speed, you'll pay the price by apex'ing the second jump.
TYCO 2
Tyco 2 was named after the famous slot cars. The road layout was very much like the old style piece-together track, left turns... right turns... with a technical feat in the middle. I created a HIGH ROAD or LOW ROAD option, (use cautiously).
KICK OUT
Kick out is the result of a revised interest in the game, after purchasing a NEW 350mhz computer. I wanted to build a fast, fun track, simple and sweet.
KICK OUT 2
Kick out 2 is the result of those same friends who had something to say about every other track I built. "Cool, but not good enough." said Jeff. "Make a big jump.", "Make it do this, make it do that!"
WHEN DOES THIS END?
Hey, I dig on this game, I dig on making tracks. I love making levels for Descent! I enjoy making levels for Red Alert. I think all games should come with Replays, Multiplayer (1 CD for network play), and editors!.
