The Hans Christian Andersen Montessori School is accredited by the American Montessori Society. It is also licensed by the State of Connecticut. Our programs run four and five day per week, full and part time. We also have an extended-care program and lunch program available. We accept children ages 2 years and 9 months through 6 years into our preschool and kindergarten programs.

To apply for admission, please complete the application and call the office 646-5727 to schedule an observation visit. We ask that parents initially observe the classroom without their child(ren) present, as this is least disruptive for both the students and observing parents. The admission process also includes an opportunity for your child(ren) to visit the classroom and to be observed by a member of our faculty.

The Application Process Our Preschool and Kindergarten programs are open to children ages three (by December 31, 2000) through six. Registration opens to returning students and siblings for two weeks during the month of January, then opens to the general public. Applications are accepted throughout the year and are placed on a waiting list for enrollment in the 2001-2002 school year. Enrollment will be determined by the order in which the application is received. The application is not official until the registration deposit has been received. HCAMS is a non-discriminatory organization. There are three steps to the application process: Submission of an application form with a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee. Parent Observation of the classroom (without child). Child's visit to the classroom and observation by faculty member. An application will be considered complete only after all three steps have been taken. The Hans Christian Andersen Montessori School admits children of any race, religion, color, national and ethnic origin.

Tuition Schedule

(for the 2000-2001 School Year)

The following options are available for payment:

Nine equal payments: The first installment is due on September 1st. The subsequent eight payments are due on the 1st of each month.

Advanced payment: Tuition paid in full by September 1st will receive a 5% discount.

If two or more children from the same family are enrolled for the same school year, a 10% discount is granted on the tuition of the additional children.
