As a beginner quilter, I fell in love with foundation piecing. I suppose this is because it allowed me to use my creative energy and make good quality blocks that I could not obtain when I first learned template piecing. Being a sewer for 30+ years, every time I sat down at the machine, I expected to produce quality work (notice I avoided the word perfect). When I finally gave into the quilting urge, a few years ago, piecing was very difficult for me and I might have stopped quilting all together if I had not found foundation piecing. Others have told me of the opposite experience. Regardless, if you are a novice or advanced quilter, take time to explore foundation piecing (also known as paper piecing) If you have never done foundation piecing before, get some general directions from one of the quality magazines that you can find at your local quilt store.

To download the patterns, click on the color patterns which will take you to the paper pattern. Once there simply hold the mouse down on the black and white pattern and prompt your browser to save it to the Hard disk. Or, you can select the entire pattern and copy it to a Paint/Draw program. Check back here often because you will find one or two new patterns added monthly. Also, if you create your own patterns, send me a copy and I will add your patterns here. I love to see all sorts of new patterns and I love new ideas!
