Lesson Plans

2 hour, morning
Basic computer knowledge, what is a computer, how to make it work, description of a PC basic components, how they work, maintenance.
Activity,  Introduction to computers in everyday use, this will involve the kids looking through a pile of old magazines and finding pictures of everyday objects that use a computer of some description.

2 hour afternoon
Computer skills, using educational software. During this time an assesment will be made of the kids present skills and approximate needs.

4 hours, Full day
Introduction to the internet, how the internet works, description of service providers, what is a browser, services available, shopping on the net, security.
Activity, general discussion on the future effects of the internet . Demonsration of mobile 'phone internet access.

.2 hours, morning 
Word processing, how to use a word processor, creating documents, spell checking

2 hours, afternoon
Image editing, how to use an image editor, introduction to digital photography

4 hours, full day
Web page design, how to design a web page, looking at other web page designs and then collect images with digi camera and start creating (in afternoon going out with a camera and incorporating them into a design). The Travellers School charities website will provide links to the kids pages at a later date.

At the end of each day we will asses the lurning outcomes for the day and fill out a report sheet something like this:

Maybe, we could connect to the net for 2 hours for the internet day and budget in the bill!!!???
We could do with telling them how to buy computers wots a bargain and stuff
