HONKERBANDS!
WIRELESS
NEW! The HONKER PERSONAL MONITOR is NOW AVAILABLE!
The HARMONICA HONKER combines the best features of a lavalier and a ring microphone with a volume control in an all-rubber (Neoprene) housing. You can wear it on any finger and comfortably hold and cup your harp like you do when playing without an amp. The electronics will add a controllable amount of distortion to produce the tone the pioneer harmonica players got from their microphone and amp systems. Registered with USPTO.

The HARMONICA HONKER uses a very high-quality electret condenser microphone with a built-in FET amplifier. It is specially connected to give you tremendous dynamic range. This tiny element in the palm of your hand, goes through BELDEN dual-spiral-shielded microphone cable. Small but not thin, (.18") this cable is strong and flexible. All parts are the same high-quality, name-brand stuff!

PACK-OF-CIGARETTES-SIZED BOX

The HONK control on the electronics box is a pan-pot that fades between your CLEAN signal and a new-style tone booster ("FULL HONK"). This circuit gives you "even" harmonics (as opposed to guitar effects) and gives your sound a horn-like quality. The HONK control lets you "dial in" the degree of "fatness" your sound will have. Along with this, you hear all the hand effects (and subtle mouth effects) you use when playing acoustically. This gives you a wide range of tones and a real variety of sounds to match different styles and moods of music. The box itself is black ABS plastic with gold printing.

The HONKER fits your hand and stays securely on your finger. You don't have to think about holding on to it or worry about dropping it. If it does fall, the HONKER is so light that it will not self-destruct, but merely bounce! The Neoprene housing cushions the tiny element and all internal wiring is Teflon insulated for flexibility and resistance to wear.

The BELTPACK (shown) and LOWBLOWN models let you clip the box on your pocket and use your own cord to the amp. For a wireless rig, all you need a 1-foot jumper cord and SOME transmitters PLUG RIGHT IN to the box! With the FULLBLOWN model, the electronics/battery box can be tucked under the handle of an amplifier or placed on the floor next to a stompbox. Stick-on Velcro patches could be used to put the box at any other convenient spot.

GOODIES UNDER DEVELOPMENT...

-A stompbox for the guitar that uses the same type of effect as the HONKER, called "The GROWLER". It gives a violin-like tone to high, sustained notes and a raunchy growl to low, simple chords.
