Thanks to the request and help of the International Comet Quarterly editor, Daniel W. E. Green, my article about the Turkish-Ottoman astronomer Takiyuddin (Taqi al-Din) was published in the January 2004 issue of the above publication. The article talks about his observation of the Great Comet of 1577, also observed by the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. I'd like to express my sincere thanks to Dan, for his guidance, help and support during the preparation of this article. In time, I plan to post both the text version of the article and include further information about the life and works of this great astronomer who established the first astronomical observatory in the Turkish soil.
