The Therapy Sisters have it all: they are great songwriters,
great musicians, and great performers! Their CDs are wonderful, but
their live performances are even better. This 'almost famous' duo will
have you howling with laughter one minute and weeping uncontrollably
the next. Lisa's guitar chops are impressive: she transitions
effortlessly from rhythm to lead and from one key to another, covering
the entire fret board. Maurine is a superb bass player, providing both
a rock-steady rhythmic underpinning, as well as an intricate
counterpoint to Lisa's guitar work. Their voices blend seamlessly, and
they know exactly when to harmonize and when to lay back and let the
other take the lead. If you have the chance to attend a 'therapy'
session, don't miss it. Austin Kessler, Co-Producer and Booking
Coordinator, Live Oak Coffeehouse Concerts www.liveoakuu.org/coffee
Unitarian Church, Tyler, Texas:
The Therapy Sisters are not only superbly talented professionals and
accomplished musicians, they are genuinely warm and friendly folks.
Their songs and their presence accomplish what we think "folk" music
does best: bring people together. Like a conversation with friends, an
evening with the Therapy Sisters is more than a performance...it's a
dose of emotional nutrition for those who enjoy laughing AND thinking.
We'll have them back as often as we can. Mary Andrews
Unity Church of Austin, TX
No matter what the mood, The Therapy Sisters always find a way to touch
my mind, heart, and funny bone, all at the same time. Your clevery
crafted songs continue to create a copacetic atmosphere conducive to
coaching the congregants into a creative crest. How's that for a
Therapy Sisters inspired line? Since people from our church ask about
you so much, I always call you first when booking the next schedule of
musicians. Our congregation knows what they like and for us, it's The
Therapy Sisters. Not only are you great to work with, you're exactly
what the doctor ordered. If laughter is the best medicine, The Therapy
Sisters are my vote for Surgeon General. Gary Michael

Unitarian Church of Santa Paula, CA
We at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula were delighted
to host an evening's session with the Therapy Sisters in May 2001. The
duo more than lived up to their publicity with smiles, laughter, and
some absolutely wonderful music. They are a treasure to be enjoyed
again and again. Jerry Gray
Unitarian Church of Ventura, CA
Like a ray of sunshine, Therapy Sisters shone their songs of
wit, wisdom, cheerfulness, and satire that left those of us here in
Ventura smiling for days. A style all their own we highly recommend
them to all Unitarian-Universalists everywhere. We plan on making them
an annual tradition. Tom

Y'all were wonderful! The people loved both the concert and the
service. Come back any time! Rev. Sandy Stephens
Wow! We were spellbound by your performance! Your
musicianship and tongue-in-cheek lyrics touched my heart. I found
myself wiping away my tears and then at other times bringing up a belly
laugh. Come again. Corrine Bair, Fr. Dyer Fine Arts Council
Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church, Dillon, CO
What a hoot they were! And what wonderful messages came
through their beautiful music. I knew from the first chorus that this
was the message that needed to be heard and I realized in an instant
that here was the beginning of the sermon for this Sunday. Rev. Rich Mayfield

The Therapy Sisters are a form of therapy unto themselves.
Forget Freud. Forget Jung. They could be a new Archetype! After their
concert I want to start nurturing "the Sister within." The Therapy
Sisters are the smartest, hippest, funniest, most talented folk music
act I have ever seen on campus [and] should be required listening and
viewing on every college campus. I'm starting a movement to grant them
tenure and full professorship at Wesleyan. The world's oldest college
for women will never be the same after today's performance by the
Therapy Sisters. Patrick

brilliant during your University of Evansville visit. The crowd loved
you both and I can see why. Tamara

The Therapy Sisters are wacky women who write and perform
music with a message. They got the audience to actively participate in
the group therapy session. A fun live act!

I would like to say that everyone who attended the concert loved it,
and we hope to bring you back again before too long. Your good humored
satire is priceless, and much needed in these times of fear and
depression. Truly, needed therapy! I was also very impressed by the
quality of the music itself--both instrumental and vocal. The concert
was one of the most memorable evenings of the year for our program. Barbara Finlay

The Therapy Sisters delivered "Full Measure." They thoroughly
entertained a crowd that was not familiar with them. The response was
electric. They are unapologetically funny. Their lyrics are clever and
full of genuine laughs. In an era where the "show" in Show Business and
the "entertainment" in The Entertainment Business seems to be lost on
most people who stand upon a stage, They also have something to say in
their lyrics and they say it with class and style. They are not an
animated phonograph record. They are what people leave their homes, pay
an admission, and sit down to see and hear: a stage show. Bob Stane
Lyons Music Shop, Lyons, CO
I had a great ti,me with all of you that evening. It is still being
talked about back here in Lyons. You two are the perfect combination of
fun, insightful and clever lyrics, along with some mighty good playing.

The Therapy Sisters held a wonderful performance in our store! Maurine
McLean and Lisa Rogers were energetic, and their music was an absolute
treat for everyone. The audience, young and old, loved the sing-a-longs
and enjoyed the duo's humorous lyrics. We had laughter throughout the
store all evening! The interaction between the audience and The Therapy
Sisters made their performance extra special. If you're looking for a
side-splitting time, great music, and some added therapy, be sure to
make your appointment with The Therapy Sisters.

I get these "Aha!" moments when I hear your music. I fall
right into the beat when I see you in person, too. I shake my little
pill bottle to chase bad spirits away. In those rare moments when NPR

"Aha!," I'm saved again by the melodic truisms I'd temporarily
forgotten. That's music!! Sue Raye, President, Austin PFLAG.
