Homer Laughlin China Company Plant Tour

Introduction
Fiesta dinnerware produced from 1936 to 1972 has become the most collected dinnerware in the country. The bright colors, art deco styling, and the fact that so many people remember "grandma had some" are what drives collectors to find the elusive missing piece for their collection. Nostagia has influenced the manufacturer, too. In 1986 the Homer Laughlin China Company (HLC) reintroduced Fiesta to the public and restaurant markets.

In November 1997, several members of the CSM Online Fiestaware Forum, an Internet discussion group for Fiesta / HLC collectors, were invited to take a special tour of the Homer Laughlin plant. Although the company offers daily tours of the manufacturing facility, the normal visitor never sees the area where Fiesta is made. Dave Conley, HLC's Director of Marketing, graciously gave four hours of his valuable time to conduct this special tour. In addition, he allowed photographs to be taken.

This web site will allow others to take a virtual tour of HLC's Fiesta works. From the basic clay to the final boxed product in the warehouse, the entire process is shown. As time permits and with the cooperation of the company, photos will be updated and new sections added. Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoy this virtual tour of the Homer Laughlin China Company plant.
