  • Mediumgreen.com
Matthew Whalen collects Fiesta and Epicure and sponsors this great web site. A weekly chat is hosted on Tuesdays at 9:00 PM Eastern time.

  • Post86

  • Pottery, Porcelain, Glassware Board
This message board is sponsored by Frame Graphics, a Connecticut company specializing in animation art, Frankoma pottery, and Star Trek collectibles. It is one of several boards on the Frame Graphics site. All types of pottery topics are discussed on the board, it is not specifically about Fiesta/HLC.

  • Circa '36 Vintage Fiesta Message Board
George Vincel is a dealer of Fiesta, Harlequin, and Riviera. His new message board is being limited to discussion of those vintage lines only.

  • CompuServe's Antiques Forum

  • Funieboi's Photo Fiesta
Mark Rumple is an Oakland, CA, artist, photographer, and collector of vintage pottery, including Fiesta. His site shows the wide variety of things that interest him. Unfortunately, it's a single page and contains a huge number of images. It takes quite a while to load the whole thing.

The Wizard (John B) has many interests including antique radios, artificial intelligence, and Fiesta. (Make sure your browser window is wide enough.) Great graphics, John!

Books and Publications of Interest

  • The Collector's Encyclopedia of Fiesta, 8th Edition
(Huxford, Bob & Sharon. Collector Books, 1998. ISBN 1-57432-043-2)

The long standing and well respected reference on the solid color dinnerware lines of the Homer Laughlin China Company is now in it's eighth edition. It gives information on all of HLC's colored lines of the 30s - 50s and several other collectible patterns. The book contains value guides based on a national survey of Fiesta/HLC dealers and collectors. The Huxford's values are used by a considerable number buyers and sellers and are considered a reasonable reflection of the market value for Fiesta, Harlequin, Riviera and other HCL lines.

  • Fiesta: Homer Laughlin China Company's Colorful Dinnerware
(Snyder, Jeffrey. Schiffer Publishing, 1997. ISBN 0-7643-0334-1)

This book is a good visual reference, accurately depicting the Fiesta glaze colors and showing all the dinnerware shapes. The text content, however, is very disappointing and shows a lack of detailed research by the author. The book includes values which were taken from a single auction of Fiesta held prior to publication. Because the condition of the pieces is not reported in the book, the values given are not reliable.
