Adoptive Children of Honduras

Welcome to Los Niņos Adoptivos de Honduras. More than 1,800 Honduran born children entered the United States in the 12 year period ending September 30, 1996, after having been adopted by U.S. citizens. A small number have follwed since then, due in part to changes in Honduran adoption law. Many of these families have found one another over the years, sharing information on the adoption process, their children's native culture and the trials of the adoptive family. Others are still searching.

Some of these families have returned to Honduras and established or re-established ties with birth families, foster families and others who became friends during what often was a trying process.

This site is intended to provide a contact point for Honduran adoptees and their families (biological and adoptive) and to provide a starting point for obtaining information on Honduran culture and international adoption issues. Since its creation in 1998, we're happy to say,it has helped a few find one another.

We hope you find it a useful site for and that you will contribute your own stories and information through our Dreambook.

Thank you for coming by. We're currently overhauling the site and apologize for dead links or other problems you may encounter. Until that job is completed, here's what we have to offer.
