When someone asks me about my husband I always tell them, “Mike’s one of those truly GOOD guys.” He’s patient and honest and extremely loyal. He is always willing to help someone, and occasionally he disappears from the house and when I finally track him down he’s at the neighbor’s house fixing something. Mike’s a big, gentle guy, who’s very loving and affectionate. He greets many of our friends each time we see them with a big bear hug. We have lots of nieces and nephews who love to play with Uncle Mike. Since he’s such a “tough” guy one of their favorite games is to “wrestle” with him. It’s a lot of fun to see Uncle Mike take them all on at once, it’s not long before he has a kid around his neck, another one on his back, another one wrapped around his right leg and third hanging from his left elbow!

Mike and his twin brother are the 5^th and 6^th kids in a family of 8 children. He has 5 brothers and 2 sisters and they all have great stories and memories of growing up in such a big family.

Mike went to college for a couple years and now he is a licensed plumber. He’s working on starting his own business and also works with a local company. He loves hockey and plays on a local league once a week. He also enjoys hunting and fishing and plays a little golf with his brothers. Mike is a terrific husband and I feel very lucky that I can count on him to love me, take care of me, and encourage me for the rest of my life. I know he’s going to be a great Dad.

I feel very happy and lucky to have married Jackie. She’s a wonderful mix of strength and gentleness. She’s just as comfortable in a nice dress as she is in jeans and a t-shirt. She enjoys any opportunity to learn something new, explore new places and meet new people. Jackie’s also very creative, each year she makes hand-made holiday cards for all of our family and friends. Sometimes she even gets me involved in her projects. The very first year we were married she convinced me to help her make homemade preserves and canned tomatoes, and even though neither one of us had ever done it before now it’s a yearly event.

Jackie has a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management and would like return to school someday for her Master’s degree. For the past 6 years she has worked as a project manager for a small computer company. She has a flexible work schedule and often works from home. When our child does arrive she has a plan for arranging her work in a way that will allow her even more time at home to care for him or her.

Family is very important to Jackie and she spends a great deal of time planning family events with our sisters and sisters-in-law and encourages me to spend time with my brothers whenever possible. Recently she designed a family website for our entire family. Now, all of my brothers and sisters and even our nieces and nephews use the website to post pictures, upcoming events and messages, letting our entire family keep in touch daily.

Jackie’s always there to take care of our family, our home and me and I love her dearly for that commitment. She has so much love to share that I know she’ll make a great Mom to our next child.
