The Long Path is a 330 mile hiking trail that currently runs from the New York City to just west of Albany. The trail starts on the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge and currently ends in John Boyd Thatcher State Park 20 miles west of Albany. The Long Path leads the hiker past an urban skyline along the Palisade cliffs, through woodlands, and along mountain ridges that capture rural and wild vistas. Future plans will extend the trail to the Adirondacks and beyond. The Long Path is maintained by the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference.
