| Oaxacan government sponsors Los Angeles artist's next Huatulco Paintings exhibit in the city of Oaxaca. |
| Keating, carrying a portable studio in his backpack, created his expressionistic landscapes on site in the towns and beaches of Bahias de Huatulco. "I paint very quickly and directly, creating a recognizable image at the very start. This makes it enjoyable for the Oaxacan people that happen to stop by and watch me work." Often classified as an Impressionist, his work is actually shows the influences of noted Expressionists DeKooning and Diebencorn, as well as, Fauvists Soutine and Matisse. At the exhibit in Oaxaca, Keating donated 10% of the proceeds to the Casa de Cultura in Huatulco. Inspired by the natural beauty of Huatulco, Keating paints furiously while Local fishermen and vendors enjoy watching the process. |
