Litters raised at Hurriyet are exposed to and handled by visitors, including children. They are given a wide assortment of toys, a "playground" which includes boxes, crates, a swimming pool, etc. to develop problem-solving abilities, sensory abilities, and agility. They are socialized with livestock under strict supervision, giving their new owners a head start in this important area. Basic training, including introduction to such phrases as "Wait!", "Get Back!", "No!", and "Leave it alone!" is started at 6 weeks of age, as well as introductory leash training.
