Welcome to
George Huttlin's
home page, version 1.7. Besides the hexomino train, you won't find much
on this particular page, but,
if you click on one of the links to my other pages below, you'll find a lot more.
- Polyominoes have intrigued me since the 1950's. I used to
treasure my hand-found pentomino solutions. However, since I now solve these puzzles by computer,
I have room for other gems in my safe-deposit box. Each of the locomotive and railroad cars above
is formed using a complete set of the 35 hexominoes.
- Hexiamonds are puzzle pieces related to polyominoes but are
based on triangles. My only success in solving hexiamond puzzles has been by computer.
- I find refuge from my nerdy pursuits performing with a number of musical groups. Perhaps
the most novel is Mallets, Hammers, and Brass, a trio specializing in
early Twentieth-Century music.
- Recently, I've developed an interest in my roots. So far, I've worked on the
ancestries of Eduard Huttlin,
Franz Anton Stumpf, and Carolina Link.
- Since retiring from full-time employment as a physicist, I'm occupied full-time-plus
as a part-time physics instructor.
If you have a comment on any of these pages, please send me an
e-mail message.
Perhaps your count of the number of solutions to a puzzle differs from mine.
Please let me know about it. Be sure to mention the "Web Site"
in the subject line.
I'd like to acknowledge my nephew Mike, who showed me how to get web pages started. Thanks, Mike.
