Before he was born...
Oh boy oh boy...
Annette and Brent
were expecting...again!
here we go ...
November
6, 2000~
I took a home pregnancy
test and it was +
November
10, 2001~
It was confirmed..."yes
Annette you are about 5 weeks along". That puts the due date
at July 10, 2001.
January
26, 2001~
I had my first ultra
sound...all looked well. I also had an amnio centesis test. It
wasn't too awful but it wasn't my favorite thing either. For the
record...it does hurt a bit more than the infamous "you'll
feel a little pressure".
February
14, 2001~
I got the results
of the amnio and all was fine...and it's a BOY
March
20, 2001~
The baby was not cooperating
during the last photo session. We had another ultra sound so they
could check the heart. The technician measured the belly and crunched
some numbers and with this info came up with a due date of July
5, 2001. We shall see! The Fourth of July would be fun!!
May 19, 2001~ we
started a baby name contest! Check out the names to vote for.
June
1, 2001~
we asked for a re-vote!
June
13, 2001~
I am 1 cm dilated
and my body is starting to get ready...which means not so much
other than it could be tomorrow...it could be 3 weeks from now...sigh.
June
21, 2001~
I am 1 - 2 cm dilated
blah blah blah...still waiting.
June
27, 2001~
I am now 2 cm dilated
blah blah blah...I have lot's of "practice" contractions
and leg pain and lower back pain but nothing worth talking about...Dr.
P said if I don't have the boybe by the weekend of July 7th then
he'll bring me in and induce the slow moving labor. I have a feeling
this kid is huge!
July
6, 2001~
Well, Dr. Padratzik
had surgery so we did not have our appointment today. We talked
on the phone and he said to just page him whenever this weekend
and we will meet him at the hospital to get this labor going.
I have contractions but not regular and not painful...something
is happening and starting just not enough. I think we will go
in on Sunday, unless I start this labor on my own tonight? Who
knows at this point! He is just never coming out! Never! I think
he heard Audrey's teething cry and decided to stay put....smart
kid!
July
8, 2001~
We (yes even Audrey) went to the
hospital at 6:pm to get this labor going! They started an IV with
Pitocin and in no time at all I was having real and regular contractions.
I was only dilated 3cm at 8:pm. Around midnight my contractions
were 1 - 2 minutes apart and ooooooo starting to bring tears to
my eyes. I was finally dilated to 4 -5cm at 1:30:am which means
I was now able to get the epidural and you better believe I did!
From that time till just after 4:am we waited for boybe and my
body to get fully ready. I felt a strange pressure and told the
nurse what I was feeling...she checked me out and exclaimed "well,
that is the baby coming on out!" Wow! Who knew? So in came
Dr. Padratzik and I started to push...I swear it was like 5 rounds
of pushing and he was out! I
was in such shock at how fast it was I just melted down crying
when they put him on my chest to hold. He is just the cutest thing! I did tear
when his shoulders came out. Bummer. But not too bad, I will recover!
Boybe scored
9's on his APGAR. Audrey was sleeping in her portable crib and
woke up just as they are bundling boybe. She was sooooooo excited
to meet him. Daddy held one baby in each arm Audrey signed "mommy" then reached
over and patted his blanket...it was so cute!
July
11, 2001~
We are going home!
One big happy family! He
wieghed 9lbs even. Mommy finally picked a name...she was stuck
between Raiden and Brennan... But
first we had to put his foot prints on the wall.
We wanted to put Brennan's next to Audrey's but the hospital would
not let us...something about security and a new policy blah blah
blah...very disapointing!
