SD Chapter 21 Purpose

IH Collectors is an association of members who are interested in IHC products and history. The interest of members encompasses tractors, engines, trucks, equipment, toys, literature and memorabilia.

The association brings together members with similar interests to exchange information on their collections. IHC and rural history are a common topic of conversation. Members are often able to direct others to the best source of information, equipment, and parts for their particular interest.

Membership Information

SD Chapter 21 is open to all persons with a common interest in IHC equipment and history. While the chapter name says South Dakota, we also have members from southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa.

Chapter meetings are usually held four times a year, but the dates fluctuate to accommodate the needs and interest of the members. Quite a few members are farmers and ranchers or are involved in agricultural production and related business, so seasonal demands require some adjustments to our meeting dates and times. A newsletter is mailed to all members prior to any meetings, or as needed to keep people informed on activities of interest. At least four meetings a year are usually held.

A yearly Chapter 21 Red Power show is sponsored. This show is moved around to different locations each year. This allows the opportunity for as many members from different areas as possible to participate. Different locations also guarantee a varying variety of equipment at each show. This approach also enhances our historical background of the region.

Our membership "year" starts on September 1 and runs through the following August. Membership dues are $25.00 a year. Of this amount $15.00 is used for membership with the national IH Collectors Club. The national club members receive a quarterly publication, "Harvester Highlights," which provides information on club business, committee reports, show listings, and local chapter news. You can also include a free 30 word ad.

Print out the Membership Form and mail to the Chapter 21 Treasurer's address as noted on the application form.
