Notes

Jacob Ladder Ryan was a farmer until he enrolled in the Civil War on 11/27/1862 at Camp Burside, Kentucky. He was mustered in on 4/15/1863 as a Captain, in Tates Company F, 32nd Regiment Infantry. He served as a guard and a scout. Jacob was promoted on 1/23/1863 to Orderly Sargent. He died in 1863 at Somerset, Kentucky of Typhoid Fever

After the close of the Civil War, Jacob's widow Keziah and their seven children moved West in covered wagons. They traveled with the Osborne family from Whitley Co. Kentucky, to Webster Co. Missouri, near Marshfield. Keziah was as Baptist and she is buried in the Osborne Plot, in Bakersfield, Missouri.
