Is any one in contact with or know where Cinnamon Lofton is? People are asking after her, and we would love to hear from her. She was a great mover and shaker with regard to Living Love. Many of us remember her weekly thoughts that she put on her web site. Here is one of them: When you join a Living Love class you are really making a commitment to your own peace and happiness. You'll realize very quickly that Living Love is not just a class, it is a way of life. A way of life that offers you the opportunity to create a discipline of choosing love on a moment to moment basis, which will give you an understanding of who you really are and how valuable you are in the game of Life. What you learn to create is fearlessness and freedom as you've never known before. Cinnamon. So please Cinnamon we would love to hear from you again, lots of love to you from us all. inossence@aol.com |

Eve Watson who I am sure many of you know and remember says,
"I am moving from the house I have been living in for a year. It was a perfect
time for me to be in Tucson, Arizona. I was able to be with my son, Peter,
and help him and his family over the hardest part of the death of Lisa, his
wife and mother of their 4 children. Now I will continue traveling and spending
some months in Prescott, Arizona. Discovering the next place for me is a
continuing adventure." "One of my favorite features in your newsletters is finding out about people who were there the same time Katie and I were. I enjoyed seeing Deborah, Shanti and Ananda. I don't know if they remember Katie who was 11 and the twins were 4 when we moved to Coos Bay. Those who remember my youngest daughter, Katie will be happy to know she is no longer the angry pre-teen. She is a lovely woman, captain in the Air Force. Katie and Matt, who is also in the Air Force, have 3 children: Tyler who is 16, Alexis who is 12, and Brayden, 6 months. The family is moving to Hawaii where she will be the general's deputy chief of protocol." So if any of you remember Eve and her children do email her at: evening_7up@yahoo.com |
| Patricia Creasey goes back a long way with Living Love. she
asks, "I wonder if anyone from Miami, Florida, USA, remembers the Ken Keyes
Cornucopia headquarters at 79th Street and Biscayne Blvd? I haven't found
anything on the website about the Miami Cornucopia program. I lived in Miami
for 12 years and from 1975-1978 Living Love at this site was a life saver
to me. I thought it was for singles, but maybe it just seemed everyone there
was single because I was! It was open 24 hours a day and rooms had with varied
activities and meditation spots. There was a Bar with healthy snacks and
non-alcoholic drinks. The "big" room had a soft, white, fluffy carpet for
lounging and beanbag chairs that were so popular then. No shoes allowed in
there! A great bunch of friends and students of Ken Keyes. Usually there
were some folks playing music instruments and some dancing. One room was
a library and media room and another was a game room for playing cards. I've
searched for years and never found another place so warm and fuzzy. That's
because "Living Love" was the base in every room. I have some photos and
when I find them will forward to you. It was the most wonderful experience
of my life. That's where I found the Living Love principles and Handbook
to Higher Consciousness. My home state is Indiana, but I've lived in Houston,
Santa Cruz and Miami. Many times I've whittled my belongings down to minimum,
but it will be no surprise to "Keyes People" that I've always preserved my
Living Love books and tapes. I'm almost 80 years of age and finally retired
January 2008! However, my Living Love Spirit is forever "young" and now I'm
joyfully sharing the Pathways with my grandchildren!" So do contact Pat if you remember the Miami Cornucopia headquarters. PcreaseyFL@aol.com |

This is from Larry ? "I was in a three month program in Berkeley.
I remember a number of people in the pictures: Tomu, Dov, Shirley, Norma,
Dot, Teddy, Kris and Shunya, I worked with Laurel in the kitchen for a while,
I also knew Andy, Tony, Lenore, Bob, Carey, Jimay, Shari, Bill "Wild Bird",
Nancy, Earth, Jeanne, Sita, Lela, Hanuman and Will. Probably more. The group
with Andy, Don, Steve, Bill et. al., was the one right before mine. My group
only had three people in it. I believe that shortly after my group, the program
became a one month instead of three. The three in our group were Larry Russick
(Mr. Moonlight), Phar Gasparian, and another fellow who loved doing enemas
in the bathtub (I'll remember his name). He tried to convince me that their
efficacy was equal to or greater than that of my nasal washes, but I remained
unconvinced."
This is quite a flash from the past. People look at me oddly when I
tell of the goings-on at the Living Love Center. It was really a great time.

Phil Grove very kindly sent this in about his Living Love history.
"I took my first training [for which I will be eternally grateful] in summer
of 1976 in Berkeley. Subsequently, I spent a month at Cornucopia, a month
with Ken in Aptos, CA; and several long sessions in Coos Bay. It's been an
up-and- down life with many "addictions" holding sway over "preferences"
but now, at the advanced age of 65, the long dormant message of Living Love
seems to be taking root in my consciousness and my life. Perhaps the gift
of marriage to Paula Clark has a lot to do with my current happiness. We
met at a workshop six years ago, have been married five years, and now live
outside Portland, Oregon. I have at least one foot solidly in retirement
[while the other foot is involved in fun projects like writing plays and
exploring yoga/Vipassanameditation/video/photography/travel, etc.]. Paula
and I are ultra-excited about attending the September Living Love workshop
in England. It would be a real treat if a buddy from the old Living Love
days [Fletcher?? Patti? Berndt? Kathy?] showed up. Much love to all. Phil
[and Paula]."
We look very much to meeting you both in the UK. |

Gaia Davies sent a lovely email in. "I have just been browsing and
found myself on the Coos Bay page. (Gaia D"avies) (then Gaia Taylor) with
Aura Wright and Lois Friedman. I would like to point out that several of
the photos on this page were taken by me, including K152, the one of Penny
leaning up against Ken in his wheelchair. It was taken at the same time as
the one that was used on the back of the relationship book. And K155 which
is mislabeled. It was a Joy of Living in the early 1980s."
"I would also like to send you a photo of myself with my husband Kurtland Davies. We met at the Ken Keyes Center when I was assisting Aura and David with Joy of Living Christmas of 1989. We were never apart after that and married in April 1990, with Aura Wright officiating on a beach in Florida. I would love to hear of other couples who met there. We now live in Ormond Beach on the northeast coast of Florida and spend summers in Washington/Oregon. We visit Miles and Lois Friedman in Boca Raton FL and Aura in Oregon. Last summer we met with Roedy Green in Victoria BC." "Some sad news: Cassandra Skouras, who was at Kurtland's Healing the Inner Child workshop in Oct. 1989, and with whom we reconnected in 2001 in Florida, died two years ago after a long and valient fight with cancer. Her husband, Mark Mathiak has become a close friend and is coming for a visit tomorrow." Thanks so much for your email Gaia. Sad news about Cassandra. Do keep in touch. Do any of you remember these two. Please let us know. |
| We had this wonderful email from that amazing Living Lover Angela
Wensley. For anyone suffering from Parinson's Disease it is an inspiration.
It could happen to any of us. It affects about 1% of those of us who are
over 60.
Thank you Angela- you are really special to all of us who have met you. AWULL PS. It would be lovely to have you at the UK workshop. |

| Dear Friends, It has now been over 15 months since I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease (PD) so it is a good time to let people know how I have been coping with it. First of all, I must say that Wendi has been my greatest support throughout. She has kept my spirits up when they would have flagged and has supported me in whatever I think I must do. I know it is tough on her, having lost her previous spouse to cancer, so I am doing what I can to make sure that I am there for her over the long run. In my previous update, I reported that the diagnosis of PD was confirmed by a PET scan in Los Angeles. This removed any doubt that I had and shifted my mind-set from denial into defiance. I have not wavered from the position of defiance and am giving Mr. Parkinson a fight the likes of which he may ultimately have cause for regret. In December 2008 I saw Jon Stoessl at the Movement Disorders Clinic at the University of British Columbia. He is the foremost expert on PD in Canada and he saw Wendi and I together for nearly 3 hours quite a relief in these days of revolving door medicine. He told me that there is only one way to slow the progression of PD, and that is by intense physical exercise. I had already figured that out, but it was good to have it confirmed as I have since redoubled my efforts. Exercise (be it running, cardio work in the gym, or working the weights) is now the priority of every single day, even the days where am not feeling well. I am now a lean (not mean) fighting machine. A few months ago I took up kickboxing. Yes, kickboxing. And it is fun. After numerous lessons from my personal trainer, Julie Beenham, I feel I am finally developing some decent skills. So watch out, Mr. P. or you may just get nailed by a left cross or a right leg roundhouse. I have continued my reading on the subject of PD. In a nutshell, PD is the result of the death of brain cells in the "substantia nigra" that produce the neurotransmitter dopamine. The symptoms of PD become noticeable only after approximately 60% of those neurons are dead. In the general population, the cells die off at less than 1% per year. In people with PD, the rate of death of these particular neurons occurs at over 10% per year. Since the neurons continue to die, PD is a progressive disease that never gets better. Why PD occurs, and affects some people (1% of the population over the age of 60, and also - but rarely - in younger people) is a mystery to medical science. Two groups of professions have a higher incidence of PD: welders and boxers. I of course have spent the past 30+ years working closely perhaps too closely - with welders. Welder's PD is believed due to the absorption of manganese. To that end I will have an MRI of my brain to detect manganese. The wheels of the Canadian medical system roll slowly the appointment was made last year and I won't know the results until October (of 2008). As far as the boxing part goes, I refer you to the previous paragraph. So, how am I doing? My right arm and hand are the most affected. PD usually starts on the dominant side (in my case the right) and over time progresses to the other side. One of the classic symptoms of PD is a "frozen shoulder." A year ago I could not raise my right arm out to the side. Numerous sessions of prolotherapy (dextrose injections) from Tim Brown, a local naturopath, resulted in my regaining full motion. But the arm is still painful (a constant 4 on a scale of 10) and slow (except in the forward direction where my right jab, cross, hook, and uppercut are unimpaired). I cannot "air type" (wiggle the fingers of my right hand in a typing motion). I can still use a keyboard, although my right hand is a slower hunter and pecker than it used to be and oftenrefusestousethespacebar. My handwriting is still dreadful but no worse than it was a year ago. I notice it most when I write words like "jump" thankfully there is not much cause to do so. Another classic symptom of PD is tremour. My right arm shakes when I am under stress or am excited. Luckily, my work is not stressful (as if climbing on scaffolding inside pressure vessels isn't dangerous) and I have been able to continue working as a field engineer at the same level as before. What is stressful is air travel, particularly in the US. Waiting in queues is stressful. Funerals are stressful. Watching sports is too exciting we may have to give up our season's tickets to the Canadian Football League. Holding a winning poker hand is exciting, but the shaking is a giveaway and everyone else folds. One symptom that I do not have, although it is usually the earliest in PD, is loss of the sense of smell. Since wine is my passion, still being able to smell and taste are quite a relief. I am still able to guess Bordeaux as Burgundies as I have always done. However, I also realize that the clock is ticking so am no longer saving the best bottles until their "best by" dates. If you come over, you will be treated to the really good stuff. Eventually (starting this year? next year? later?) I will have to take the drug Sinemet that treats the symptoms of PD (for example, it should unfreeze my shoulder) but does not halt the progressive loss of the neurons, so it is only effective for some years and fails to work when most of the neurons are gone. There is no way to tell how long. I could last 5 years or 25 years. While hoping for the latter, I am being realistic about the former. Every single day is a gift and I try and remember that in everything I do and with everyone I meet. I am honoured to know you. Thanks for your support, your cards, and your kindnesses.

| This site is for those of us who are looking to improve our consciousness. Ken Keyes Jr devoted his life so other could benefit from the truth he sought to share. | ||
| Hear are a few words of wisdom from Roberts site.
People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered: Love them anyway. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives: Do good anyway. If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies: Succeed anyway. The good you do today, will be forgotten tomorrow: Do good anyway. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable: Be honest and frank anyway. Give the world the best you have to give and you get kicked in the teeth: Give the world the best you have anyway. |
