Full Orchestra: Spirit of Freedom: in the spirit of John Williams, this 3-1/2-minute fanfare with hymn-like section was commissioned and premiered in 1997 by the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and brought back in 1998 by popular demand. It was such an audience-pleaser that several versions have been commissioned. All versions are compatible with each other. Available for full orchestra, SATB choir, drum corps, concert band, and soon brass band. "'Spirit of Freedom' is a stirring orchestral fanfare which is immediately accessible to the general public, yet it also has the depth to bear repeated hearings. It truly satisfies both the casual listener and seasoned concert-goer alike." Robert Wendel, composer, arranger and conductor, Radio City Music Hall Mississippi Morning: 5-minute tone poem painting a picture of a riverboat ride at dawn. Perfect for pops or family concerts; they'll go out humming the tune! Also excellent for youth or community orchestras. Romance: this evocative "sounds like film music" 3-minute work is an easy read; available also for string orchestra, string quartet or solo/piano. "The Lowell (MA) Philharmonic Orchestra began each concert of its 1997-98 season with a different work by Tracey Rush (Mississippi Morning, Romance, and Fantasia in F), and after each concert audience members were asking when her next work would be performed. We received very enthusiastic applause for each of her works and our audience size grew for each concert as word of her music spread." David H. Bailey, Music Director, Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra
More Christmas works with choir: Celestial Celebration (SATB choir and orchestra, 6 min.): text taken from the Biblical account of the birth of Christ, the pastoral opening features a soprano solo; rousing "Glory to God in the Highest" ending. The Friendly Beasts: this arrangement of the 12th Century carol is for SA or 2-part children's choir and chamber orchestra (1-1-2-2/3-0-0-0/perc, strings). "Tracey Rush has a great gift for writing memorable melodies with accessible but interesting harmonies. She is also an experienced instrumentalist who really knows how to orchestrate and is a joy to work with. Her Friendly Beasts combines superb vocal writing and instrumental text painting with words kids enjoy singing. I have programmed it four times with three different orchestras and have always had wonderful response from performers and audiences alike." Nicholas Palmer, Conductor of the Dubuque (IA), Altoona (PA), and Owensboro (KY) Symphonies
String Orchestra or Quartet: Fantasia in F: Castle Enterprises' best seller! It has been performed throughout the United States by high school orchestras on contests and festivals, as well as by concert orchestras. (4'20") "A thoroughly enjoyable, accessible, and effective work for string quartet. It is rewarding for both performers and audiences." Phil Ying, Ying Quartet Gianoncelli Suite: a transcription of four works by Renaissance composer Bernardo Gianoncelli, including his Bergamasca made famous in Respighi's "Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite #2." Lots of fun to perform! The Water is Wide: Beautiful arrangement of the traditional folk song. Sheep May Safely Graze: the violas have the melody in this arrangement of Bach's classic. Romance: see full orchestra
