The ferry trip took 1-1/2 days with four
intermediate stops to reach Prince Rupert, BC. For those without a cabin
tenting on the upper deck and sleeping bags in the lounges were permitted
during the overnight. I kept a sleepy vigil by my computer
in the front passenger lounge as it logged the trip on the ferry. Standard
AC power was available nearly anywhere on the
boat. |

The ferry ride from Haines to Prince Rupert departed about 2:30 in the afternoon and continued until midnight of the following day making stops at ports along the way including Juneau and Ketchikan. A campground at Prince Rupert was used for a few hours of sleep before continuing by car through the interior of British Columbia. Camping one night near Fort Frasier and the second near Lytton [tag #7]. This three day drive through farmland, high desert and a spectacular chasm concluded with a stopover in Seattle [next page].. |
