Cumberland Co, Maine. This means he was 45y old when married the widow Anna (Rowe) Tarr who was
36 yrs. Ezekiel BRAY m int 31 Jan 1801 to Mrs Anna (Rowe) TARR both of the "Pejepscot
Clame" [sic] (Vital Record New Gloucester p 39) Their marriage record was stated
"Ezekiel DAY" [sic] m 5 Mar 1801 to Mrs Anna TARR by Peleg CHANDLER Jr [Typed
official town records] . The name, Ezekiel BRAY, appears many times in Danville public &
private records in Danville; hovever, the name, Ezekiel Day, appears only in the above
typed marriage record. Ezekiel Bray of New Gloucester ME on 10 Dec 1789 bought Lot #
15 in Range four in the town of Buckstown, Cumberland Co from Edmund Chandler of
Buckston (Deed 19 p 493 recorded 21 Dec 1792). Mrs Anna (Rowe) TARR was the widow
of Solomon TARR, the s/o James & Lucy (Poole) TARR who died in 1799, according to
notes by the late Ebenezer Poole of Gloucester. Solomon Tarr was born 15 Jul 1764 at
Gloucester MA and died before 1801. She m Solomon Tarr (m int 24 Aug 1784) at
Gloucester MA. Anna was b 19 Nov 1765 at Gloucester MA, d/o Deacon Jabez ROW(e)
Children by her first husband were:
- Nancy (Anna) [printed vital records state bapt 15 Mar1784; however, Mrs
Runkle stated, "I check original records on microfilm to learn
that the 5th Parish records state 1787 not 1784 ."Gloucester MA.
She was of Pejepscot ME m 22 Nov 1803 at Minot ME Rodolph Young
of Minot ME She settled in what is now Auburn ME before 1803.
They were living in Ossipee NH in 1830 [#421 Ossipee NH Census]
- Deborah* b 1789 [was ae 16yrs in 1805, Essex Probate records] m int 26 May
1808 Joshua Tarr, she mostly died and he m(2) her sister Rhoda.

the fact the daughter of Solomon & Anna (Rowe) Tarr was the wife of David
Hollis, she
was only 5yrs old on 2 Sept 1805; therefore she was born no earlier than 3 Sept
1799 at
Gloucester MA He was educated in Pejepscot schools as a young man serving as a
private in Capt Henry Froster's Co of Militia 1814, in the company of Ensign
Thomas
Goss in 1815. He was also elected a tythingman in 1830. Was in Danville ME in
1820 Census
#328 & 1830 Census Danville ME #061. The name David Hollis does not appear
after 1830.
There was a David Hollis in 1840, Anson Somerset Co, Maine #072; one in 1850 ,
at
Skowhegan, Somerset Co, Maine #045; in 1860 one David Hollis at Freedom,
Maine
#220.
