Family Members: Print and Save This Site to Your Hard Disk

I strongly encourage you to save these files on your hard disk. You never know what will happen to me or this web site as the years roll by and this information is timeless, so I encourage you to do so. You may want to do a "fresh" save every once in awhile, as I am continuously changing, editing, correcting, etc.

Here's How:

To Save:

Go to File Manager or Explorer and create a directory. Call it "Taylor (or Johnston, etc.) Genealogy", or whatever you wish. If you want the links to work, duplicate my directory structure structure EXACTLY underneath that directory, ie start wit ntgen and incude other subdirectories on your hard disk exactly as I have them.

Now go back into your browser and bring up one of my pages. Go to File | Save. You will see a dialog box. Point it towards your directory you just created and save the file there. Save all of my pages there as you link to them. Again, if you want the links between the pages to work, duplicate my directory structure exactly.

If the hyperlinks do not work, you will be able to see, and even bookmark or show as Favorites, those files by opening them from File | Open. As a last resort, if you are familiar with HTML, you can redo the links to be local and hyperlink between the pages on your local disk.

To Print, go to File | Print in your browser when any page is up in front of you. If you know any HTML, you might want to turn off the bold to print. It's not necessary for printing. That page should print. Print each page as you link to it. Browsers will sometimes be stubborn and not think there is anything there to print. If that happens, try Edit | Select All, and then print. You might want to consider before printing very much, that I am constantly making changes to this site, and there are a lot of pages here.

Also, if you want more detail in terms of my PAF file entries, I will be glad to share them with you. Just E Mail with your situation (ie using PAF, Family Tree, or whatever and what the import requirements are) and I'll E Mail back to you the appropriate files.

More to Be Done - Wanna Help?

For anyone in the Family interested in this type of work there is oodles and oodles (as in tons and tons) of work yet to be done.

Start your genealogy of your non-Taylor - Millirons - Johnston side

Look at the Most Wanted List.

The Millirons and Beaty's can be tracked more closely in terms of their activities during the Civil War and any paperwork there giving any more clues about them.

More family stories.

Finding the McBrides... I've lost contact with them! I also don't know where the Hass's are and some others.

Finding the originals of the Family letters from the 1800's - Where are they now??

Going to the Keota Cemetery and inventorying all headstones there. If in the area, look for death certificate and will of James Taylor in Washington, Iowa and the birth certificate for Edwin and Hulda (Beaty) Taylor.

Find and keep up to date addresseses and phone numbers of current family members.

I have found there are only approximately 80 or so Millirons in the Internet White Page listings. Can someone do a mailing to them, giving them what we have and asking if any of them have any more?

Going for records on: James Taylor, more obits, deed to farm, will. James Taylor (Jr.), will, obit, Sam Taylor, will, obit. Lucy Beaty, will, obit. Any of the other kin of the settlers.

If you think you are interested, give me a call, E Mail, Snail Mail and I'll help you get started.

Additionally, if you want to contribute an article to add to "Family Stories", send it to me by E Mail or Snail Mail. I will give you attribution and add the appropriate hyperlinks. The article can be a biography of your parents or grandparents, remembrances, whatever you think might be interesting for the rest of the family to know.

Family Reunion Last Summer

A good time was had by all at last year's family reunion of the Fred and Anna Taylor's descendants in Colorado. A good many of the California Taylor's came, as well as Kansas Taylor's came to visit with the Colorado bunch. Thanks to Lynn for spearheading this reunion and making it happen. An estimate is 51 descendants out of 103 living got together for this reunion.

The week started with a reunion picnic and bar b que at Cynthia's near Colorado Springs, followed by each family doing "their" thing over the next week.

Ruby Kegebehn

Ruby (Millirons) Kegebehn passed away January 20, 1996. She was 100 years old. In case you are coming here after I had announced (erroneously) that she had celebrated her 101st birthday, I simply hadn't received the news at that time.

Snail Mail Addresses

I maintain a snail mail address listing for family mailings. I do not publish this address listing on the web, but would like to add you if you're not on it. If you are family and need some other family member's snail mail or phone, EMail me for the info and I will give you the latest I have.
