On August 1, 1620, the Pilgrim Fathers set sail on the ship "Mayflower" to plant the first permanent colony in the northern parts of Virginia (now New England). As land came in sight, the very first American state paper was signed aboard the ship - The Mayflower Compact. Of the 102 passengers and crew of the Mayflower, 51 perished that first terrible winter at Plymouth, including both my Great Grandparents William and Alice Mullins. Of the half who survived, 25 have known living descendants today. Listed are my great grandfathers who sailed on that famous voyage and were signers of the Mayflower Compact, and my direct lineages from them with names/dates/places and documenting references.
