Still under construction, but i had to get something down here to at least get started!
I've been a huge musical fan for all of my life, singing into hairbrushes and imagining myself on stage in front of millions of people. I think i drove my parents crazy when i was around 5 years old by singing "Born Free" endlessly in the back of the station wagon.. the worst part of that was that i didn't know all of the words, so i made them up as i went!
As i got older, i became more and more interested in folk music and acoustic guitar.. i became an enormous fan of Janis Ian when i was a teenager. That was about the time that she released her "Behind the Lines" album, quickly followed by "Aftertones". I remember sitting the the dark in basement for endless hours, singing along, writing my own poetry. I wrote songs during that period, although i would never consent to perform any of them for anyone! They were terrible!! But i was able to get some of my teenage angst out that way, it provided me with a spark of the creative and a taste for self-expression.....
( one of the most exciting moments in in my recent history was meeting Janis in Springfield, Ohio last summer after one of her performances. I have a picture of the two of us.. and as soon as i get it scanned, i'll be sure to put it up here.)
Janis has just released a new album, "God and the FBI", and i would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of vocals, guitar, blues, folk or music that is true to the soul. She is truly a gem, a voice to be heard... can you tell i'm a fan??
As i said, this site is still under construction and i have a LOT more to share with you about my musical tastes.. but for now i'll just hope you visit Janis' site and enjoy her music.
