The Negaverse is a group that wants to gain energy by draining it from humans. They constantly battle the Scouts until the Sailor Scouts finally defeat Queen Beryl. The Negamoon is a group that wants to rule the future Crystal Tokyo. Rini and the Silver Crystal hold amazing power, and if they can capture both, they can succeed.

Queen Beryl was stealing human energy to release a great evil, the Negaforce. She was ultimately defeated in the last episode of Sailor Moon R. The Sailor Scouts traveled through the cold and snow to a secret base of Beryl's. Here, the scouts were defeated one by one while fighting evil Negaverse monsters. Finally, Sailor Moon transformed into Princess Serenity and called upon her friends to help. They appeared and helped her defeat Queen Beryl for good.

These are the generals Queen Beryl sent to steal human energy. Jedite was forced into an eternal sleep as punishment for failing Queen Beryl. He tried to steal massive amounts of energy from lots of people. Nephlite tried to steal a lot of energy from one person who was nearing their energy peak. Nephlite fell in love with Molly and he saved her life when the Negaverse kidnapped her. In the end, he became good because of Molly's love for him. Zoycite is responsible for the murder of Nephlite. Queen Beryl destroyed Zoycite after she failed too many times. Her mission was to gather the Rainbow Crystals. Malachite was killed by Sailor Moon when she reflected one of his own attacks back at him.

Alan and Ann tried to collect human energy for their Doom Tree, a living being that was their home. Disguising themselves as brother and sister, Alan and Ann Granger found ways of stealing other students' energy using their Cardian creatures. Alan fell in love with Serena and Ann fell in love with Darien, causing jealous between the pair. Ann tricked Serena and the Doom Tree attacked her. Suddenly, to the surprise of everyone, Serena transformed into Sailor Moon. The other Scouts arrived and a great battle ensued. Serena took a hit of Negaenergy for Darien, and he regained his memory of the Moon Kingdom. Ann jumped in front of Alan to save him, she died, and Sailor Moon healed the Doom Tree. It was originally a loving creature, but its children turned to evil. Ann was reborn and the two left with the Tree.

The Negamoon, called Nemesis, is a place where the banished earthlings were sent. Ruled by Prince Diamond, its inhabitants hate Earth and want to punish Earth for banishing them to Nemesis.

Catzi, Bertie, Avery, and Prizma gave up working for the Negamoon and Rubeus. They were rid of their dark energy by Sailor Moon and opened a cosmetic shop. Rubeus captured Sailor Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. Sailor Moon defeated Rubeus and he died when his ship exploded.

Emerald was called back to the Negamoon after failing to fill Tokyo of the past with Dark Energy using special sapphire statues. Emerald had help from various Droids, but the Scouts always defeated them and destroyed the statues. Emerald desired to rule Tokyo with Prince Diamond, but her greed for power led to her death. The Wise Man offered Emerald the full power of the Dark Crystal, but it changed her into a dragon. The Sailor Scouts defeated the dragon, killing Emerald.

Ruler of the Negamoon, Prince Diamond is in charge of all attempts to capture Rini and the Silver Crystal. Prince Diamond believes that Sailor Moon is beautiful tries to brainwash her into loving him. However, Tuxedo Mask rescues Sailor Moon when her Silver Crystal fails to protect her. Prince Diamond and the extremely powerful Wicked Lady travel back to the Sailor Scouts time to destroy Tokyo by filling it with Dark Energy. Diamond is angry at the Wise Man for killing Sapphire, his brother. Sailor Moon convinces Diamond that the Wise Man is evil. When Wise Man appears and attacks Sailor Moon, Diamond protects her and dies.

The Wise Man tried to help Rubeus succeed and he realized that Queen Serenity was Sailor Moon. Tricking Rini, he changed her into the Wicked Lady. The Wise Man killed Emerald by tempting her with the power of the Dark Crystal when turned her into a dragon the Scouts defeated. The Wise Man has his own agenda; he wants ultimate power now that he has the Wicked Lady to fight for him. He does not care about Prince Diamond or the rest of the Negamoon. He is the Doom Phantom, a powerful creature that can destroy the earth. Together, Queen Serenity, Rini, and the Sailor Scouts defeat the Wise Man.

Sapphire is Prince Diamond's brother. He disagrees with Prince Diamond's belief that it is necessary to capture Rini or the Silver Crystal to be successful in ruling Crystal Tokyo. He does not trust the Wise Man and encourages Prince Diamond to do the same, but the Prince refuses. Sapphire, knowing that the Wise Man has his own plan, steals the Dark Crystal Chip that controls the crystal's power level. The Wise Man attacks Sapphire, and he escapes to earth. Prizma rescues him and he discovers she has changed for the better now that she no longer serves the Negamoon. Sapphire tries to warn Diamond about the Wise Man, but the Wise Man appears and kills Sapphire. Diamond, enraged, takes his brother's body and disappears.

The Wicked Lady is Rini. Rini has always wanted to be a lady, and the Wise Man used this desire to his advantage. She did not want to admit she lost the Silver Crystal and the Wise Man said he believed her, gaining her trust. He convinced her that the Scouts and her parents never truly loved her and that they were her enemies. Rini, filled with false thoughts, became the Wicked Lady and battles against the Sailor Scouts. When the Wise Man transfers the Dark Phantom's energy through Rini, Sailor Moon warns her the energy is too much for her. Rini questions why Serena doesn't try to escape but Serena insists on staying with her daughter. Finally believing Serena cares about her, the Wicked Lady changes back into Rini.

When the Negaverse captured Tuxedo Mask, they brainwashed him and turned him against the Sailor Scouts. He tried to capture Sailor Moon's Imperium Silver Crystal but never succeeded. Strangely, Prince Darien saved Sailor Moon's life a few times even though he insisted they were enemies. Sailor Moon was able to heal Darien with her Crystal but Beryl captured him again. Ultimately, Serena's love for Darien reawakened his memories and he helped save her from Beryl.
