Professor Myerhoff realized that she had cancer and that this Fairfax Project would be her last. So she changed the direction of her study to focus on some Hassidim. Myerhoff became a member of this group, and explored their customs and rituals. This film is a one hour interview with Myerhoff two weeks prior to her death.

TEXT: an uneven film on the attitudes towards peace, with a good Gazan score by Said Morad-Sabrin. Haifa, played by the actor Mohammad Bakri, is a deranged character and probably a metaphor for the palestinian people. He is befriended by Abu Said, a cotton candy vendor in Gaza. Abu Said's unemployed sons, Said and Siad, are skeptical of the peace plans of Arafat and Rabin. Other friends of Said are also cautious about the peace plan, but all of them excitedly watch the signing of the peace plans on their antique television set.
