TEXT: Yeud begins his film, "This is my home....... Tel Aviv" in his best Sam Spade voice. Thus begins his look at the conflict between Israel's secular and religious Jews. He began filming in Hebron after Baruch Goldstein fired 119 bullets in 1994. He ended filming after Yigal Amir fired three in November 1995. In between are interviews and visits with the leaders in Hebron and Kiryat Arba who seek a Torah-based Jewish kingdom, and Abie Nathan, who seeks a more secular society. Spliced into this documentary are flashbacks to a banned film that Yeud produced in 1977 called The Honey Connection which was about a fictionalized civil war between the secular and religious.

TEXT: An excellent film I saw at the Jerusalem Film Fest in 88. This is Tamir Paul's first full length film about Zion Cohen, an 11 year old boy from a poor neighborhood, who is sent by his concerned grandmother to a foster home. Based on a book by Galila Ron-Feder (you know, the Nir Chronicles) the Sharoni family's stated motive as foster parents is goodwill, but internal family problems are an underlying factor in its decision to adopt. The boy, Zion attempts to cling to his values, which are different from the foster family's. Issues include the forced separation from home and natural surroundings at a young age and the move to a different family and a different economic status. Most of the actors have no previous acting experience.

Oskar went with his mother back to Germany, and became a member of Hitler Youth, rebelled against a strict father, and had Communist leaning. Jack went with his father to Trinidad, growing up as a white Jew in a black country. He moved to Israel and served in its army. At the age of 21, the twins met (in 1954). They were a media sensation and became the subject of research project on twins. Film follows the twins as they visit together in Trinidad, recounting their histories and similarities.

A woman, unable to join the group due to injuries suffered in the camp, recalls her experiences, including the dreaded inspections carried out by the infamous Dr. Mengele. At lunch, the elderly Holocaust survivors share mutual memories of their horrifics pasts. Raching Auschwitz, the survivors are startled by a German speaking guide intent on "informing" them about the camp's history and structure. Group members point to spots where family members and friends were last seen and place tokens of remembrance at the memorial wall. One woman collapses and must be taken to a doctor.
