I've been a writer since second grade, when my aunt gave
me a study desk. While I used the desk for many things over
the years (doing homework, wood-carving practice, Barbie
hideaway), sitting at that desk always gave me the urge to
take out a clean sheet of notebook paper and start writing.
Fortunately, though the desk was lost along with the rest of
my belongings in the Midwestern floods of 1993, I've
retained that urge to write.
I own my own business
(www.adshopplus.com),
writing and designing marketing materials for corporate
marketing departments and small businesses. I also do some
magazine freelancing, and, while I haven't done much in the
way of fiction since I wrote and self-published a novel in
seventh grade ("The Haunted Attic," featuring teen-age
detective Carrie Moore), I would like to one day return to
that form as well.
Here's hoping you enjoy your visit to the "Women Who
Write" homepage; you can learn more about me (and about
freelance writing) at
"Janet's
Cottage Garden" - my personal homepage!
