A story about a 10 year old Japanese girl who was sold by her family into a Geisha order. The story takes place in a pre/post world war 2 Japan. Now what is a Geisha? What I understood was a Geisha is a rich man's escort/clown minus the prostitution.
I enjoyed the film mainly because it was well written and I felt like I learned something about another culture in the process

The life story of a Geisha beginning as a young girl working in the Geisha house. Her growing up in the Geisha world, what was expected of her and how she beat the odds against her. This movie was entertaining and educational.
