Welcome to Fly Fishing on the Farmington River.

CT's Finest Overall Trout Fishing!!

Under Construction this is going to take a while. Hang with me the wait will be worth it.

This one Fly fisherman's guided tour along the Farmington River in Northwestern Connecticut. My name is Jim and I'll be your guide. We'll take a look at some (not all) of my most favorite fishing holes. As we visit each spot I'll include directions, tips, stories, some history, photos, and whatever else I feel like adding. Hope you enjoy your visit and maybe I'll see fishin' on the River. "Tight Lines"

Fly Fishing the Farmington From Satan's Kingdom to Riverton

[IMAGE] Satan's Kingdom is located on Route 44 at the borders of Canton and New Hartford, CT. This State Recreation Area is home for Farmington Tubing. Tubers travel from all around and spend many lazy summer days floating down along the scenic banks of the Farmington. But, this is also where we'll be starting OUR Journey. The difference for us is that we'll be heading upstream past the Trout Management area and state forests into...
Riverton. Riverton is a quaint little town which is the home of Hitchcock Furniture company. Each year on Opening Day the local merchants host a fishing contest where the winner can go home with a genuine Hitchcock chair. As you can see from the sign on the right the town has been around for a while. It was the old stagecoach route from Hartford to Albany, NY. Riverton is also the home of the Old Riverton Inn an old stagecoach stop along the Hartford to Albany route which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
