Dr. John Packo's ministry is one of encouragement to people coping with the difficulties of life. "Our Threefold Positional Thinking"(106)

When grappling witht he warfare of our old sinful nature and the new nature within us, practice threefold positional thinking:

Think co-crucifixion. Think, "death position' to the old sinful nature. Count your old sinful nature dead with Christ's death.
Think co-resurrection. Think, "risen life position" of the new nature. Count your new nature alive with Christ's resurrection.
Think co-seated. Think of sitting together with Christ in heaven. From this position Jesus has delegated to us the authority of the believer. This position assures us of victory over our sinful nature, the world and the devil.

Positional thinkers trust in the supernatural healing power of God to supplement their doctor's treatments. They trust God to lead them to the best, most reliable treatments, knowing that God in His sovereignty uses doctors as instruments of healing. In the final analysis, though, it is the Lord God who heals. Doctors can prescribe medication or perform surgery, and psychologists can give counsel in dealing with the emotions, but the Lord heals.

Satan is gleeful when we deny advice from the medical profession, for he is bent on our spiritual, physical and psychological destruciton. Our threefold positional thinking, based on our victory in Christ, comes to our rescue when we appropriate it by counting the victory of Christ as complete.

Thought: "Our threefold positional thinking comes to our rescue during illness for our victory in Christ is complete."
