Education Resources
by Julie Clark

I receive many letters from parents asking about resources for various aspects of education. My main focus is on the problem of bullying in schools, but I will try to put together some resources that will hopefully help parents. I am not an expert in special education, or education at all. I am a fairly good researcher, however, and will try to find the best, most up-to-date Web sites.

Many readers are asking about the laws in Virginia, where I also live, so many of the Web sites will deal with Virginia laws. However, for those in other states, you can find out how to search for the laws in your states by reading an article I wrote a few months ago: Homeschooling

Laws can change, so it is always best to ask the administration of your child's school for a copy of current laws. If they will not provide a copy within a reasonable amount of time, drop by your local school board office and ask for a copy...it is your right to be informed of all laws, requirements, etc.

For parents who would like to learn more and do their own research, below are some helpful resources. More will be added over time.
