Tour of the Covered Bridges of Columbiana, Jefferson and Carroll Counties, Ohio

Start at Beaver Creek State Park on Echo Dell Road north of East Liverpool  off OH7.  Thomas Malone CB#35-15-96 is in the park near the mill.

Take OH7 north to Rogers and turn left on OH154 to Elkton.  Church Hill CB#35-15-08 is located on the grounds of a restaurant  (The Chop House in 2007) on the south side of OH154

Continue west on OH154 to Lisbon.  Follow OH45 north out of town to OH344.  At the junction with OH558 turn LEFT on to Co. Rd. 411 to Teegarden CB#35-15-05 on a bypassed section of Eagleton Road left of 411.  Watch for the signs!

Continue southwest on 411 to Co Rd 410=Depot Rd.  Turn left on 410 to Guilford .Turn left on OH172 to US30.  Continue east on US30 for about a mile and turn right on T764=Wayne Bridge Road.  Continue about four miles to Scenic Vista Park and turn right into the park to see Sells CB#35-15-01 on the left side of the park road.

Continue southwest on T764=Wayne Bridge Road to a "T" and turn right (north) on T756=Trinity Church Road for about a mile and look for McClellan CB#35-15-02 crossing the creek to the right. Since McClellan Road is nearly impassable, the side road to the bridge may be difficult to find.

Take T756 = Trinity Church Road south to OH518.  Turn left on OH518 to Gavers.  Turn right on OH164 to Salineville and continue on OH164 to the Jefferson County line.  When SR164 makes a sharp right at the county line, turn left on Co. Rd. 55 = Monroeville-Irondale Road to Irondale and Hammondsville.  Turn right on OH213 and then turn right on OH152 for about four miles.  Turn right on Co. Rd. 56 = Mt Tabor Road to Hindman Memorial CB#35-41-37. Note that there is no easy turn off or parking space near this new covered bridge and that a state trooper lives in the area.  If you need a picture, fell free to copy the one from this web site.

Continue on Co Rd 56 to Shane. At Shane continue straight ahead on Co. Rd. 54 for a mile and turn left on Co. Rd. 59 for about three miles.  Turn left on Co. Rd.  60 = Circle Green Road to East Springfield.  Turn right on OH43 through Amsterdam to Carrollton.  Turn left at the square on OH332 and turn left again on 3rd Street, which should become Co. Rd. 8.  Follow signs to the Blue Bird Restaurant and you will find a covered bridge on its grounds.  Note that the restaurant is open for business only for limited hours.  In 2007 its hours were 12-4 on Tuesday through Sunday.  Plan accordingly if you hope to eat there.
