Tour of Some Covered Bridges of Preble & Montgomery Counties, Ohio

From Richmond, IN, go east on US 40 to US 127. Turn right on US 127 toward I-70... Just before the I-70 interchange, turn left on Price Road to Geeting CB#35-68-13.

Continue straight ahead and follow County Road 15 to Lewisburg. At the four-way stop, continue straight ahead and look for Civitan Park on the left. Turn left into the park to see Dixon's Branch CB#35-68-04.

Return to Main Street (SR503) and turn right to US 40. Turn right on US 40 across a steel bridge, then turn left on Euphemia-Verona Road; turn right on Swamp Creek Road to Warnke CB#35-68-14.

Go through the bridge and turn right on Jordan Road to US 40. Turn left on US 40 to County Line Road; turn right and continue across US 35. At cross road (actually 5-points), turn left on Farmersville-West Alexandria Road to Farmersville. At Farmersville, turn left at a "T" toward a gas station then turn right on Farmersville-Germantown Pike to Germantown. Turn left on Center Street to Germantown CB#35-57-01.

From Germantown, go west on State Route 725 to the edge of town and turn left on Astoria Road across a steel bridge and then turn right to Mudlick CB#35-57-36. (This bridge was moved here from Jasper Road in Greene County in 1965-66; its former number was 35-29-26. It is privately owned.)

Go straight ahead (up hill) on Sigal Road to SR 725 and turn left to Gratis.... Where SR725 curves to the left, go straight ahead to a stop sign and then straight ahead on State Route 122... At the cemetery just outside Gratis, turn left on Brubaker Road to Brubaker CB#35-68-06.

Continue through the bridge to a "T"; turn right on Aukerman Creek Road to a second "T"; turn left to continue on Aukerman Creek Road! Now take the second right on C5 = Wayne Trace Road to the second crossroad. Turn left on C97 = Consolidated Road. The first left on Old Camden Pike was the former site of Roberts CB#35-68-05. (Built in 1829, it has been moved and restored at a park in Eaton.) C97 = Consolidated Road goes under the N&W Railway and US127. Turn right (north) on US127 to Eaton, turn left on State Route 732 and then turn right and follow city streets along Sevenmile Creek to the restored Roberts Bridge. Continue north to State Route 122. Turn left (west) on SR122 for about 3 miles, then right on T141 = Toby Road to US 35... Turn right on US 35 for a half mile and then turn left on T142 = Eaton-New Hope Road to Christman CB#35-68-12.

Just beyond this bridge, turn left on C11 = Eaton-Gettysburg Road for about four miles. Turn right on Winnerline Road and immediately turn left on Pence-Shewman Road... At crossroad, turn right on Orphans Road to State Route 726. Turn left on SR 726 to US 40 and left on US 40 to Richmond.
