Start at Newton Falls CB#35-78-01 on Arlington Blvd, one block east of the OH534 bridge over the East Branch of the Mahoning River (between River Street and Milton Blvd) in Newton Falls. This is the only historic covered bridge remaining in Ohio which includes a sidewalk for pedestrians. If coming from the south, go straight ahead one block where OH534 turns left. If coming from the north, turn left when OH534 turns left and then turn left again where OH534 turns right to find the covered bridge.
From Newton Falls go north on OH534.
Option 1: Continue north on OH534 to Southington. Turn right on OH305 through Champion, across Mosquito Creek Dam and then through Fowler to Hartford.
Option 2: Turn right on OH5 and take the bypass around Warren. Turn right on OH305 through Fowler to Hartford.
At Hartford, turn left on OH7 for 1½ miles and then right on OH609 to Orangeville. Turn left on State Line Road and right on Carlisle Road=SR4002. At the first crossroad turn right on Rutledge Road=SR3022. Take the first left on Summit Road and immediately turn right on Colt Road. Colt Road crosses PA18 in Reynolds Heights, where it becomes Reynolds Industrial Park Road=SR4012. Beyond the village look for Kidds Mill CB#38-43-01 bypassed on the right.
Continue on SR4012=Kidds Mill Road to PA58. Turn right on PA58 for about eight miles to a Tennessee Gas facility. Turn right at a crossroad on to Fullingmill Road. After about 2½ miles turn left at a "T" on Valley Road. Continue almost straight ahead on US62 where it comes in from the left and continue almost straight ahead on Flat Road where US62 curves to the right. Turn right on PA318 across Neshannock Creek and turn left on Orchard Road to PA158. Turn right on PA158 to New Wilmington. Turn left on PA208 for about 2½ miles and turn right on T476=Covered Bridge Road to Banks CB#38-37-02 across Neshannock Creek.
Continue a short distance south to PA956. Turn left on PA956. Turn right on PA168. Turn left (almost straight ahead) on PA388. Turn left on US422 and continue almost to US19. Soon after the "US19 Exit" sign, turn right into McConnells Mill State Park. To see McConnells Mill and CB#38-37-01 across Slippery Rock Creek, you will probably have to park in the first parking area, just beyond the one-lane road to the right, and walk down to the mill and bridge. You can drive by the mill and bridge by continuing on T415B=McConnells Mill Rd to a "T" and turning right on T415A=Kildoo Rd to eventually come out on the one-lane road near the parking lot. Note that Kildoo Road is one-lane because it is narrow with some close clearances at large rock formations. Do not attempt to drive a large vehicle on it.
When Kildoo Road comes back to McConnells Mill Road, go straight ahead on Johnson Road to come out on US19.
