JOSE RODEIRO is a painter who has fellowships in painting from the National Endowment for the Arts,(1986-7), the
Fulbright
Program,(1995), and the Institute for International
Education {Cintas Fellowship},(1982). He has held official government artist residencies in Florida and Maryland.

Rodeiro holds a Ph.D from the College of Fine Arts, Ohio University; an MFA in painting from Pratt Institute, New York, a BA from the University of Tampa, Florida. He currently is an Associate Professor within the ART DEPARTMENT, JERSEY CITY STATE COLLEGE, Jersey City, New Jersey. He teaches art history and studio in both the undergraduate & graduate programs, coordinating the MFA & MA thesis courses.
Rodeiro's paternal grandmother Juanita Martinez was born in Cuba in 1897.  His mother comes from old Latin communities in Key West, Tampa, the Canary Islands & Cuba.  His father was a Galician-American. Rodeiro is a graduate of Jesuit High School of Tampa. He was ten when he  first painted in oil.
