Mrs. Sarah E. Martin, 79, is survived by four sons, and one daughter here. A resident of Shamrock for the past 17 years, Mrs Sarah E. Martin, 79 years old, died at her home on North Choctaw Street Sunday, November (20)?, 1933. Mrs Martin was the mother of eighteen children, five of whom now make their home in Shamrock. Mrs. Martin was born January 21 1854. She came here with her family about 1916 from West Virginia and made her home in Shamrock and nearby communities ever since. Since the death of her husband, a son Tom Martin and family made their home with her.. Funeral services were held at the Shamrock Cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Virgil M. Lollar of the Lela Baptist Church in charge. Mrs. Martin had been a member of the Baptist Church since girlhood. Among the survivors are four sons and one daughter who make their home in Shamrock: Jake Martin, Tom Martin, and John Martin and Mrs Lucy Darling. Four other sons with their families were present for the funeral also, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Martin of Clayton, N.M.: Russell Martin of Cenico, N.M.: Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Martin of Oklahoma City, and Will Martin and son of Frederick, Okla. M. M. Nix Funeral Home was in charge of internment in the local cemetery.

James and Charles were the two oldest children of Cornelius and they and their father enlisted in the American army, and served the entire time of the revolutionary war; Cornelius was a lieutenant; Charles was about sixteen years old at the time of his enlistment. Charles was the father of fourteen children, six sons and eight daughters; the oldest son, known in history as General Atkinson, was born in Northumberland county Pennsylvania; His mother died when he was an infant; afterward Charles married Elizabeth Stephens, and their two oldest children, Keziah, who was married to Mitchel McCoy, and Mary, who married Gilbert McCoy, both having lived and died in this county, and buried at Cameron, were born in Northumberland county Pennsylvania; they then moved from there to Dauphin county, Pennsylvania, at the mouth of the Juniata river.

The children of Cornelius Atkinson and Mary Cross from Vol 2 of Catharine Fedorchak's Monroe County Records and 1882 Hardesty's History of Monroe County are; James born 1762 married Mary Brown; Charles 1760 - 1834 married Sarah McKnight and Elizabeth Stephens; Robert; William married Mary McCoy; Mary married a Jones and an Ingram; Margaret married a Baskins; Keziah married James Martin; Jane married a Robinson; Rebecca married a Clark; Michael 1783 - married Margaret; Isaac married Margaret Holmes and Cornelius, Robert, Mary, Jane, Rebecca, and Cornelius remained in Pa., the others came to Monroe County. Cornelius and Mary (Cross) Atkinson, emigrated from Ireland to America a few years before the revolutionary war, and settled in Northumberland county, Pennsylvania.. ( This may not be true there are records of a Cornelius Atkinson being born in Surry, Virgina whose father names was Robert. There are also records of Cornelius and Mary Cross being born in Northumberland Co. Pa.) James and Charles were the two oldest children of Cornelius and they and their father enlisted in the American army, and served the entire time of the revolutionary war; Cornelius was a lieutenant; Charles was about sixteen years old at the time of his enlistment. Cornelius and his wife died in Dauphin county. But little is known concerning the father of Cornelius, only that his name was Robert, and that he was a native of Ireland.

James was engaged with his brother Charles in protecting the frontier at the time against Indian hostilities, and both emigrated to Ohio from Pennsylvania at the same time. James was a single man at the time he came to this state, but soon afterward married Mary Brown (usually called Aunt Polly Atkinson by the young people in earlier times) and shortly after their union, moved to Licking county in this state among the Indians, but remained there but a short time when they moved back to this county and settled on Sunfish creek near the mouth of Atkinsons's run, bought a quarter section of land from the government, erected a house thereon, and laid out the town of Jamestown (now called Cameron), and having lived there for many years, and raised a large family of children, he died at a good old age, and his remains were interned in the Cameron cemetery, his relict (Aunt Polly) lived in this county several years after his death, and moved with one of her sons to Wood county, West Virgina, and died there at a very old age.

MRS. EZEKIAL JOHNSON DIES AT LOUDENVILLE
Mrs. Ezekial Johnson passed away at her home in Loudenville, Sunday evening , February 26, 1928 at 10:30 o'clock. after an extended illness. Mrs Johnson was born on Bowman ridge, November 26, 1851. Her maiden name was Margaret Jane Bush, daughter of Willian and Mattlda Bush. Her entire life was spent on Bowman Ridge, Fork Ridge, and Loudenville. She was united in marriage to Ezekial Johnson , and to this union five children were born, all of whom survive. She was a life-long member of the Christian Church at Cameron and was an active member until failing health made it impossible for her to attend. Her true, Christian life has been an inspiration to many, and God has called her to her reward. She is survived by her husband Ezekial Johnson of Loudenville, three sons, Edward of Moundsville, Wyle of Kittanning, Pa., and Charles of Cameron; Two daughters, Mrs. Maye Howard, of Moundsville and Mrs. Elsie Courtwright of Cameron. one brother, W. A. Bush of near Pleasant Valley; and a host of other relatives and friends. A sister, Mrs Elizabeth Mangold, preceded her to the great beyond less than a week ago. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Note: Age given (24) at the time of marriage in Marshal Co. Marriages 1835-1899 by Wes Coltran, Parkersburg, W.Va. conflects with age calculated from Obit.

By tradition, she writes: Three or 4 Bonar brothers, who were Scotch-Irish, left a widowed mother in Ireland, and immigrated to America one at a time
around 1730-1740. One brother, William Bonar, b. abt. 1721, had 5 sons. William's third son, James Bonar, married Nancy Ann Van Syoc, and had 15 documented children, one of whom was Matilda Bonar who married Wm. Bush.
