BUBBA BLAND
I'M A NUT FOR CLASSIC STAMPS AND COVERS
Give me a nice 1850's Three cent stamp or a Mexican classic, and I'm in Philatelic Hogs Heaven.

When an ol' country boy like me gets messed up in a hobby like stamp collecting, it's sweeter than a good skunk oder comin' through the window on a hot summer night. The way I figure it, I work my rear off each day as a 'Wood Butcher', come home tired, and these little beauties can give me a bit of relaxin', that I don't get anywhere else. Now I really like the Classics, but unfortunately they cost a bunch. Now I need a little action to help me add a few of these stamps to my collection. So, what's the web page for? Well, two things:

First, to get collectors like me connected with others that might just like the stamps they would like to sell, or on the other hand find the stamps they would like to buy. I've been doing this with a few of my friend on this net, but the E's are slow. If I can post what you might be looking for, I may be able to come up with a few good items, and yes, I might make a little change so I can add to my own collection.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHIN'

Secondly, and most important, is the opportunity for collectors to get an answer to those strange questions we all come up against. I'll post your questions and see if we can find out from another collector what you want to know. If it's somethin' easy, I'll just drop you a line, maybe even post the question and answer, for everyone else to see, course it's gotta be good.

Good Places to Go

So, all you 'Stamp Fans', just step up the the plate, and hit
BUBBA'S E-MAIL ADDRESS (yes punch this Blue marker) and you are off and runnin'. Let me know what you have, or what you need, and I'll see what I can come up with. Now, if you have a question that you're havin' a hard time with, just let me know what that sucker is. If I have a question posted, and you have the answer, gall darn it, let me know, so I won't be lookin' too stupid for too long. :-?

Spanish American War Patriotic Cover
"Remember The Maine"
Since this is the one Hundredth aniversary of the sinking of the Maine in Havana harbor I thought it might be nice to show the philatelic aftermate of this event. Now known that the Maine may have gone down under our own stupidity, it started the call for US involvement into the Anti-Spanish affair in Cuba by the Yellow Journalist of that day. This cover is an early patriot cover that shows the jump on the bandwangon mentality that was created at that time. Today it is a reminder of the strongarm tactics used in ridding this hemisphere of European influence, by the United States.

Enerald and Deep Blue Green
Mexico's Dos Reales of 1856 Issue

Like the Orange Brown issue of the 1851 US 3 cents Issue, the emerald and Deep Blue Green issues of Mexico's Dos Reales of 1856 are some of the most miss-identified stamps that exist. I have placed here two good examples of these issues for the benefit of the viewer. The Emeraldis only found on plate I and the Deep Blue Green is only found on plate III. Where the emeralds are often washed out looking, the deep blue greens are normally quite clear. If you have questions regarding this issues please contact me. I am starting to plate the Dos Reales of the early issues, and this subject is becoming very interesting to me.
