Developed habitability design and procedural recommendations for future space stations, lunar bases, and interplanetary space craft.

Analyzed tasks performed by Naval Special Warfare personnel (SEAL Teams and Special Boat Squadrons), and provided recommendations to guide the development of equipment and procedures to enhance human performance in extreme environments.

Provided human factors support for the development of Navy airships and submersibles, Air Force rail cars, command and control centers, and monobaric underwater habitats.

Trains members of NASA's Expedition Corps, astronauts selected for missions to the International Space Station, and beyond, to prepare for long-duration isolation and confinement.

Fellow of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society; Chair of the Alexander C. Williams, Jr., Award Committee of the HFES; Member of the HFES Membership Committee.

Best Article of the Year in Ergonomics in Design, 1995.
