What's the MacVerter?

MacVerter Metric is the slickest, quickest way to find out how many gallons there are in 33.182 cubic meters--or to convert temperature, distance/length, area, volume or mass/weight measures between metric and the U.S. customary system. MacVerter Metric features instant conversion among 39 common units. Ideal as an Apple Menu item, though it's an independent application that works anywhere (60K on disk/100K in memory for the 68K version). And you can have it all (even the hidden Steely Dan quote, plus the *new* Tennessee Ernie Ford quote!) for the low, low price of $15.

Version History

Version 2.2 added full Mac Drag & Drop functionality to the MacVerter . . . now you can drag your data right into the nearest application, or save it on the Desktop to use later!

Version 2.2 also improved readability on grayscale screens . . . now it should be easier than ever to MacVert right there on your PowerBook.

Version 2.2.1 fixed an error message basic QuickDraw users were getting.

Version 2.2.2 fixed a minor problem with AppleEvents that only appeared on PowerMacs. It also supplied a solution to the problem of world hunger, and it took great strides toward insuring world peace. Unfortunately, it was never released in a final, public version, and the source code was scrapped after a hard disk crash corrupted it irretrievably. Apologies for any inconvenience to end users.

Version 2.3 adds full support for PowerMacs: This version of the MacVerter is available in 68K, PPC, and fat binary versions. Download whichever you prefer (see below). By popular request, Version 2.3 also adds a Tennessee Ernie Ford lyric, to counterbalance the forward-looking Steely Dan lines already present. Last, but certainly not least, MacVerter Version 2.3 should work better with international numbering systems (until now, people who had certain non-U.S. numbering systems in their Numbers control panel were getting error messages that prevented them from using the MacVerter). See the MacVerter Read Me file enclosed in the archive (and posted here) for further information.
