The Comics Festival is over for another year.
Just 1 Page is out in the world and everybody’s happy.

Sequential Tart and Millarworld’s Mostly Wanted have interviews about Just 1 Page

This May, at the UK's premier International Comics Festival in Bristol comicfestival.co.uk , the second Just 1 Page charity comic magazine was published to raise money for the Trinity Hospice.

All profits from sales of the magazine and auctions of the original art will go to the Trinity Hospice Charity. www.trinityhospice.org.uk/services/index.html

Just 1 Page is a collaboration of artists and writers from the whole range of the British comics community. Each contributor sends just one page featuring a character with a connection to the theme – this year it was British comics.

The magazine contains pin-ups, strips and text articles. Covering the whole spectrum - from Minnie the Minx to Modesty Blaise, from Jack Staff to John Constantine, from Judge Dredd to Fungus the Bogeyman, from Rupert the Bear to Promethea, from Dennis the Menace to Halo Jones, from Alan Moore to Andy Capp,
and from Keanu Reeves to Ozzy Osbourne !
And MANY MORE.

J1P2 costs FIVE POUNDS for a 72 page magazine, and you can be sure that at least two pounds from every copy will go to the charity. (Once the printing costs have been covered, even more of your fiver will go to the charity.)

Pros who have donated original art include Jock, Al Davison, Charlie Adlard, Gary Northfield, Paul J Holden, Steve Pugh, Paul Ridgon, Peter Gross, Mike Hawthorne, Dave Windett, Gary Spencer Millidge, Trevor Hairsine, Len O’Grady, Adi Tantimedh, and Hunt Emerson

Others who have contributed text or otherwise include Leo Baxendale (who has given a one page preview of his forthcoming book about his career at The Beano), Bryan Talbot, Chris Weston, Mike Carey, Rob Williams, Simon Furman, Euan Kerr, Peter Hogan, Lee “Budgie” Barnett.

And there is a special preview of Craig McGill’s forthcoming book about Grant Morrison.
(Responsible adults can ask for the special child-friendly edition, with this page slightly edited.)

STOP PRESS NEWS

EXTRA AUCTION ITEM !
Alex De Campi has donated the original script by Andy Diggle and the original thumbnail outlines by Jock for The Losers #1
(Britain’s best new comic) which she won in an online competition over at Andy’s forum. All three of them are stars !

I have set up a PAYPAL account for mail order, including overseas purchases of Just 1 Page, and for auction payments later in the year.
Go to the Just 1 Page shop for latest news on how to purchase … and how to pay without having to find me at
Bristol.

At least TWO POUNDS from each copy sold will go to the Trinity Hospice charity.
Just 1 Page 2 will cost FIVE POUNDS including postage in the
UK.
For US orders and outside
Europe the price is TEN DOLLARS.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE POSTAGE.

For more info on how to buy a copy, or keep informed of the auctions, contact Adrian Brown just1page@aol.com

There is actually still a way you can contribute art to Just 1 Page.

At Bristol, I collected sketches inside copies of the completed magazine - as before J1P includes blank pages for sketches –
and these will be included in the auctions. I also gave out copies to unsuspecting artists, who agreed to send it back
with their art inside. If you did not get one, please contact me to get one in the post for your sketch donations.

OLD NEWS

There was a Just 1 Page table at the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing on Saturday 20th March.

UK Web Comix Thing
It was a great get together for small press
UK comics and I met some of the splendid folks involved. You'll be able to see a lot of their work in Just 1 Page 2: The Brits.

In 2001, the first Just 1 Page comic raised around £500 ($800) for CBLDF and Comic Relief.

Meanwhile check http://members.aol.com/just1page  for info on the last edition, Just 1 Page : HEROES

Check http://members.aol.com/just1page/just1pageV2.pdf (needs Adobe reader)
for more info on how to participate, or contact Adrian Brown just1page@aol.com

If you can send an electronic copy of sufficient quality to print, your original art can arrive after the print deadline,
but it should be with me before the Bristol Festival (ie by 25th May at the latest).
