Dear Kids,
I am enclosing card as you suggested and thanks a million for handling this assignment for
me. I hope the card reaches you in time to use it.
It seems like you folks are a little presumptive in planning that big wedding for me. Did
you ever stop to consider that it may be in the nature of an elopement with perhaps a
Justice of the Peace officiating? Well, anyway, there is nothing definitely planned but I
have an instinctive dread of a big ceremony. I have even hinted to the little lady that
she might meet me on the way home and we could be wed very quietly and unobtrusively
somewhere along the way. Splendid idea, don't you think??
That of course, is my idea, but being a woman I suppose Pat would like a little show and
ostentation. Whether she would be happy with such a prosaic wedding I don't know, but them
is my ideas.
But, as I say, nothing is definitely planned and I can give no indication of when we will
be back except to venture that it may be anytime within the next three months.
Well, so long, and thanks again for handling the birthday deal.
