An invitation is extended to read my tribute to my father, Fred Taake with a prayer that it will inspire other family members to also share memories and honor of their veteran Seabee loved ones who served in World War II. |

Dad was always so very proud of his Cruise Book, compiled through the collective efforts of the sailors of the 79th Battalion Seabees, which he brought home and treasured throughout his years. My goal is to present some of the pages from Dad's Cruise Book for all to enjoy. |
79th Battalion Seabees Cruise Book
Letters written home from the war to loved ones are recorded history of that event and the lives of the men and women who lived it. These letters written by my father, and a letter written to me by one of Dad's fellow 79th Seabees of the Headquarters Company in which Dad served, are shared here as a contribution to this recorded history. |
