Bluegrass Collar and Lead

Thanks for stopping by! I've been designing and making fancy dog collars for a few years now. I do the work myself presently and have what I think are some wonderful creations for your dog. I deal with synthetic webbing, fancy apparel grade ribbons (I am always looking for new types and brands) and innovative designs. All are washable. E-mail me if you are interested in a special gift for your canine or a friend's.

PS: The Basenjis in the corner are Tuff and Alex. Both are spayed females.

Things are going well for me in terms of becoming a real business. This means that   I'd better have some pricing info available.

Pricing guide , Ordering is still by e-mail; just drop me a line.

Hardware:

Recently, I have found and acquired solid brass hardware. The (positive) effect is fantastic.I hope you agree. The picture below is of a safety choke collar with solid brass hardware. For size reference, the lilac webing is (in reality) one inch wide.

Nickel plated and chrome plated (bright silver finish) are still available, and will likely remain the most common choice for metal hardware.

Buckles and Closures:

Quick Buckle stylesThese are the standard plastic buckles that have appeared on dog collars, backpacks, and other outdoor gear. I use the best I have found (from ITW Nexus®)and pay twice as much as the cheap brands. They hold up MUCH better, too.

Safety Choke designThis is a proprietary design. It is best suited for sighthounds, since their neck diameter is similar to their head.

Metal buckleThe buckle wasn't hard, but putting in a grommet and having it hold without tearing out has been. I had stopped thinking about it for a while, but believe I have solved the problem.

Finished collarsshowing how the ribbons look on the webbing.

Coursing Leads. Two inches wide, fleece lined, four foot lead standard

Martingales. Two inch wide adjustable length Martingales for larger sighthounds (Ibizan, Borzoi, Greyhound, Saluki, Whippet, etc.). One inch or 3/4 inch wide Martingales for the smaller breeds (Basenji, Italian Greyhound, Whippet, etc.). Second picture of 3/4 inch Italian Greyhound collar.

Ribbons:

New ribbons. Stripes, Checks, Flames (August 2005)_

Southwestern designs

Plaids (these are the red ones, more available)

Other Plaids (some of the other possibilities)

Gingham plaids

Leopard Prints; and some *Furry Animal Prints*, too. The furry ones have a short pile of 3mm or so. Quite unique and cute!

MetallicsThese are beautiful ribbons. They don't hold up as well to teeth and nails as the others, but are elegant and can last a long time with just a bit of care. These are the Oriental designs. I should get a few of the East Indian (click for a pic of some of the Taj Mahal designs!) ones together for scanning, too.
