European Circus Festival of Young Artists 1996 (Wiesbaden / Germany) The 1996 Circus festival had several contortion routines on the schedule. Here are some images of all the contortion acts ! The pictures were taken from a video tape recorded at the festival in November. All images are between 13 and 30 KB in size Karola (also known as Cassy K. from her Las Vegas performance) is one of the best backbenders I´ve ever seen. They are both very flexible, but one of them showed a lotus in a handstand backbend with her legs hanging down vertically (a position that requires not only a very flexible back, but also very flexible and strong shoulders). In her beautiful act she played with white face-masks which she placed on her face but also on her knees and body.
