Premiered 20 years after its composition, this quintet is very short but extremely tricky. It was originally sketched for quartet and baritone voice, but the contra-melodic second trombone was too much to resist. Use real samples for this one.

Written on six staves, this atonal-minimalist composition is a repertoire piece for pianist Michael Arnowitt, who is one of the few who can play it. Use a hot grand piano setting if you've got one.

Three very different movements: an introduction and wild dance, a pesante trading tune, and a fugue where all the development takes place in the voices during their entrances -- and then comes the coda! If you haven't got a tuba sample, use French horn, and turn the volume way up.
