Surnames I Am Researching
Caprio (Valva) Caprio (Colliano)
These are the two main branches I started with in 1986. Caprio (Valva, Italy) is the Francesco Caprio line. Valva is a few miles away from Colliano.Caprio (Colliano, Italy) is the Alfonso Caprio line, neither of the two Caprio's are directly related but come together through the Falcone/Belmont Connection.

The Schoharie Bunch is Eckerson, Pierce, Oliver, Pierce, Hagadorn. Manhattan 1640's is Swits and are the ancestors of the Eckerson clan which in turn has many of the other surnames as descendants. Thayers are Massachusetts. If you are researching these names, by all means, let me know!

At a previous Caprio reunion I found information about my great grandma's family in the town of Schoharie, New York and I decided to do a little detective work on my ancestors. In 1986, Cary, my son, my parents and I went to the Stone Fort in Schoharie and there I found a treasure trove of information on my great grandmother's side of the family. The hunt was on!

This web site will have several genealogy links, some family history, pictures and a place for family and friends to share their comments, good news and even bad news. There will be no revealing genealogy information after 1905. This is to protect the privacy of those descendants still living. Where the numbers of descendants are missing, I deleted to insure their privacy.
